The Value Proposition: Less is More

You have value, but do you know how to communicate your value to others? The truth is, most people don’t know how to describe themselves. There is a huge misconception that talking about yourself is the equivalent of having a big ego.

According to Wallace, “If you’ve done it, it’s not bragging.” There is nothing wrong with talking about yourself, your accomplishments and what you bring to the table. The goal is to provide clarity about who you are and what you do. When you do this, you’ll want to take a simple approach to avoid over-explaining yourself. Simplicity can serve as the currency you need to get permission to have a more in-depth conversation with people.

Focus on Now vs The Next Big Thing

Society thrives on innovative ideas. We are constantly searching for the “next big thing.” However, what could happen if we focus on “what is,” rather than “what’s next?”

Wallace emphasizes the importance of focusing on the things that matter today. Rather than worrying about what’s going to be the next big thing 10 years from now, we should focus on what is going to stay the same 10 years from now.

This is a concept that Amazon mastered when they revolutionized online shopping by adopting a global marketplace and expedited shipping. It was clear over 10 years ago that online shopping was here to stay, but they focused on what was working.

The Unmatched Power of Multimedia

One of the strongest aspects of the Internet is the power for so many to share content. The problem that most people face is not knowing what to do with this power. While you are able to share whatever you want, you must prioritize being helpful to your audience. Simply put, make stuff that people like.

During a pandemic where everyone is at home, media is your best friend. This is a great time to lean on graphic design and multimedia such as infographics and images to create useful content.

The Clubhouse Social Network: Leveling the Playing Field

If you keep up with the latest social media trends, you’ve probably heard about the new platform called Clubhouse

Clubhouse is an audio only, invite only and iPhone only app that allows users to have engaging conversations about any and everything – like an interactive podcast! This app presents a great opportunity to connect with experts in various industries. The fun thing about Clubhouse is that you choose to be an active or passive participant.

While most social media platforms are centered on visual content, Clubhouse caters to users who prefer to be more vocal than visual. This app essentially levels the playing field in the social media realm because it still generates engagement without having to invest in visual components.

But we must warn you – this app can be addictive!
